China hopes to further strengthen press cooperation with African countries, said a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing on 5th September.
China is committed to forging a partnership featuring political mutual trust and equality, win-win economic cooperation and interactive cultural exchanges, said Liu Yunshan, a member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, at a meeting with more than 40 press officers from 30 African countries, who are here for a two-week seminar hosted by China.
This is the fourth seminar organized by the Information Office of China's State Council for African press officers. The previous three ones were held between 2004 and 2006.
Liu, also head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, noted that press exchanges and cooperation between China and African countries in recent years have enhanced mutual understanding and promoted all-round development of Sino-African friendly cooperation.
Hafsa Mossi, minister of information, communication, relations with parliament and spokeswoman of Burundian government, said on behalf of the African officers that African countries regard China as their partner. Stronger cooperation in press is conducive to promoting Sino-African cooperation in all fields. By attending the seminar, participants see a booming China.
In the following two weeks, the African press officers will attend lectures and exchange views with Chinese press officers, journalists and experts. Apart from Beijing, they will also visit Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, and Shanghai, China's economic hub.
