| Ethiopia, China Forge Commendable Cultural Ties |

Ethiopia and China have created commendable cultural relations and the existing relation is expected to be bolstered in the years ahead, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia said.
In its statement sent to the Ethiopian News Agency, the ministry said on Tuesday that the two sisterly countries have already signed an action plan aimed at renewing the existing cultural ties.
Signing the agreement, Hailekiros Gessese said the signing of the action plan would further enhance the Ethio-Chinese cultural relations.
Deputy Minster of Culture, Meng Xiaosi signed the agreement on the part of the Chinese government.
The Ethiopian Ambassador to China reiterated on the occasion that Ethiopia is preparing to celebrate the new millennium, which he said would be broadcast by Chinese media. The population of China stands at 1.3 billion at present.
The statement said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia would provide the necessary assistance to Chinese media in broadcasting the millennium celebrations.
